Set three years after the events of the first game, Dead Space 2 follows Isaac Clarke’s battle against the Necromorph outbreak aboard “The Sprawl”, a massive space station culture. The game features several new improvements over its predecessor such as Isaac being able to use a rifle-like object known as a “javelin gun” and the ability to use “stasis” to halt moving objects. It also contains many more puzzles than the original game.

The character models look great as well, with very realistic facial expressions. Overall, the graphics are top-notch and help create an immersive and terrifying experience.
The sound of Dead Space 2
The sound of Dead Space 2 is one of the most important aspects of the game. The game’s audio is top-notch, with a great mix of music, sound effects, and voice acting. The voice acting is some of the best I’ve ever heard in a video game, with each character having a unique and believable voice. The music is also excellent, and fits the mood of the game perfectly. The sound effects are very well done, and add a lot to the atmosphere of the game. Overall, the sound is one of the highlights of Dead Space 2.
The conclusion
Although the ending of Dead Space 2 has been divisive among fans, I personally found it to be a satisfying conclusion to the game’s story. With that said, there are still some unanswered questions that I hope will be addressed in future installments of the series.
The most obvious loose thread is the fate of Unitologist leader Jacob Danik. In the final cutscene, we see Danik being impaled by a massive spike, but his body is never shown on-screen. This has led to speculation amongst fans that he may have somehow survived and will return as a future antagonist.
Another question that remains is what happened to Ellie Langford after she was seemingly killed by the Marker-possessed Isaac Clarke. In the game’s epilogue, we see Ellie alive and well, but it’s never explained how she survived her encounter with Isaac. Did she somehow manage to exercise the Marker from him before it could kill her? Or was her death simply faked in order to fool the Unitologists?
Finally, I’m curious about what happened to the other Markers that were seen in Dead Space 2. We know that one was taken by Ellie for study, but what happened to the others? Are they still out there somewhere, waiting to be discovered by unsuspecting humans?
Only time will tell if these questions will be answered in future Dead Space games or other forms of media. For now, we can only speculate about what might have been.
